I have a job, how brilliant is that? I think I will like this job, I get to work with cameras and other people that like or are interested in cameras. Not selling clothing anymore or doing stuff with hair, I will be actually working with something that I actually like and love. So it will work a lot better. I feel a lot more positive about this than I have about other jobs before.
I think that it will be an environment that I can be comfortable in and know something about it. When it comes to sales, a good sales person should be able to sell anything, I can sell anything, but to sell something and be good at it you need a passion for what you are selling. To me there is nothing worse than walking into a shop and being approached by a sales assistant that has no passion for the stuff they are being paid to sell me, It is amazing to see someone who has this undiluted passion for selling what ever it may be that they want you to buy. It is great to see someone so passionate about the product or the prospect of selling something that you want to buy it just because of the person.
As much as I dislike capitalism, if you are going to take part in it then you gotta have a flame, a zesty attitude to selling. Some kind of confidence, passion, and character to your pitch. Product knowledge is not enough a lot of the time. You can know the ins and outs of a product, but you need to have a passion for it and want other people to see what you see in the product, see why it is great or crap or why it would work for them and suit their needs, you need to be objective at times. When it comes to cameras you have different kinds of people, you get the hardcore nikon people and the canon people or the ones that love pentax. These people have different needs and you need to realize that. They will come in looking for something in particular, I being a nikon person I would rather that everyone has a nikon, but putting that aside I do understand the people who prefer canons and to sell cameras I need to be objective and not just subjective and bias against canons.
I suppose I am just passionate about this.
